This is short one to recap what I've continued with because I've been so caught up with other commitments that I've pushed the big project aside. Which was ultimately a very bad move because this is such a large task.
I've taken a glance at the A3 portfolio template and begun putting screenshots, sketches, my rationale and moodbarod in it however I havent got a clear vision of what the design of the portfolio will be in regards to having it aethetically pleasing. To keep it consistent I may design it similar to my Week 10 presentation of the site but that was still quite bland.
I've decided to have an opening page for the website which users will click onto the logo and then be taken to the homepage. This page is simply for aesthetics and another interactive element. I've trailed the two logos to determine the circular logo will fit best with the oblong shapes on the background compared to both the oblong shape of the logo and the shapes in the background
I've been focusing on the interactivity with my site, as I want this to be a key focus. I'm beginning to find some troubles with XD in regards to the freedom I have with its tools however after a few experiments I've been able to animate elements of the design.
The first opening page I wish to animate the logo with a few tests I've found I just have to be experimentive and creatively thinking outside of the box to create the vision I want. Using the time transition and auto-animate I've been able to create some movement for when users first open the site.
With plans for the background to move I first created the background oblong shapes using the smoothing tools to perfect the round edges as no harsh lines were going to be in the background.
I then experimented with 2 options of movements. Using peer feedback to determine the best movement, one had minimal movement and the other was quite a dramatic movement.
After some deliberation it was decided that both were quite good, with some tweaking for the large movement such as smoothing the edges for a smooth transitions and instead of just using one transition it may be a good idea to try and implement both for the different levels of navigation.
With no direct idea for the mobile site layout, I've got a fairly big to-do list for the next 2-3 weeks. Thankfully I have peers that will help with decisions and thankfully I also have majority of the A3 portfolio its just a matter of design and the XD files.
Until Next Time, Live and Laugh,
