La Fusion Fiesta

VCD has no more lectures! Therefore, its all focus on our projects. After doing the presentation to the studio class I was able to get feedback on the general idea and any advice which was a helpful exercise cause it broadened a feedback loop of those who just sat around me to the wider studio.

I've been experimenting with logos. Using the dotted sketch pad I began creating the rough ideas then finalising typography with tracing paper which meant the outlines were smooth.

I then used adobe capture and using the smoothing tool in illustrator I then refined the edges where it was jaggered. I also tested whether a normal typeface would suit for part of the logo however to maintain the authentic feel I stuck with the original typography.

I had the idea to have an interactive background where components of the design will move when the user clicks it. The background needed colour and dark background to help the colour pop, the darkness at the back will also represent the time of day the fiesta is on as it is for the night. I first drew very rough wireframes to gain general advice for how the information should be displayed with help from my peers we decided on one which meant I was able to experiment on Illustator using the pen tool and the smoothing tool to create shapes that would outline the background that would shape the text.

My logo creation took me longer than originally expected. Because I hand drew the logo I went through a longer process which set back the prototype phase quite abit. With that put aside, I've continued researching for the mobile layout. I've had very minimal experience working with mobile layout fundamentals so with some research I wanted the general how-tos before beginning.

From forums to blogs to youtube videos, I began to understand that desktop and mobile design are very different.

Hopefully by next week I'll have an idea of the layout for the desktop and possibly the mobile design.

Until Next Time, Live and Laugh,
