Poster Composition
In the process of collecting all the alphabet letterforms I focused on collecting uppercase letters. This was due to the ease of collecting the letterforms in the environment. However, my desires for my poster was directed toward Swiss Modernism and these generally included lowercase typeface. This meant although my proof sheet will include the uppercase letter forms I will have a seperate sheet signifying the lowercase letters I have collected as well to compliment the design period.
Drawing off previous Swiss Modernist artists I found that the colours were quite bright though the colour range wouldn't generally extend 4, they made good use of positive and negative space and alignment of text was key. with this in mind I created several options for the final poster.
Many of the designs were to simple just as the Swiss Modern implies it to be. The colours remained similar and and the information remained the remained. Things to keep in mind was the direction of reading when it came to placing 'alphabet beats', ensuring that when people read it they didn't read 'beats alphabet'.
Toward the end of the creation of the posters I created a liking for the more colourful posters.
Exploring where I could create a more enticing composition whilst keeping to the design period.
With peer advice and recommendation the final poster design will be one of these posters.
